Pernicious Anemia

We have all heard of anemia. There are several kinds. Iron poor nutrition or the inability to adsorb the iron in food to make red blood cells is probably the most common cause of anemia. Anemia is essentially lack of red blood cells to carry oxygen to the almost infinite number of cells in the body. Really there are only 10 to 100 trillion cells in a human body; not an infinite number. Without oxygen the cells die or in CANCER the cells do not use oxygen to survive. Whether there is a connection between cancer and anemia is not known but perhaps merits investigation.

About 10 years ago I became aware of a supplement that seems to assist perhaps 20 percent of the population address pernicious anemia. It may also address certain kinds of neuritis, neuralgia and neuropathy. These three are all degrees of the same thing which is nerve malfunction and symptoms. Having the correct form of vitamin B-12 is the primary solution to pernicious anemia and often to neuropathy. The research is fairly unclear on all of this but let’s say handling the symptoms of neuropathy and pernicious anemia often responds to the correct form of B-12. We have a simple stress test which does a great job of determining your personal need. Not only that, it is inexpensive to handle the condition.

So, what are symptoms of pernicious anemia or neuritis? Neuritis would be a milder form of B-12 deficiency then neuropathy. Again, B-12 may be one of several solutions to addressing neuritis or neuropathy. As for pernicious anemia here are the 10 most common symptoms:

1. Nausea

2. Headaches

3. Smooth tongue. This one may be hard to tell but most tongues have a surface that if you run a finger nail over you will feel the roughness.

4. Altered sensation such as tingling or numbness. What I notice in patients is this is more common in the arms and hands or in the lower extremities. This is one of the most common symptoms and a simple stress test will highlight the condition so it is easier to observe.

5. Burning which is probably a more dramatic and severe presentation than tingling or numbness.

6. Muscle weakness. OK, so you feel weak.

7. Memory loss. This is common and the older we get the more this is seen as a complaint. There are other causes for this but this is a simple solution if it is completely or part of the cause.

8. Fatigue. This is the symptom I was told the supplement I was introduced to addressed well.

9. Increased heart rate. Well this is just the heart trying to push oxygen carrying red blood cells to supply your whole body. Not enough red blood cells so heart has to work harder.

10. Pale skin. This is easier to see in a caucasian person.

All the symptoms above could be contributed to you not getting enough oxygen to result in your condition. We all get fatigued if we exercise beyond our ability to get oxygen to the cells. Anemia is lack of oxygen to cells due to lack of red blood cells. that is straight forward and simple to understand.

Let’s sum this up. Pernicious anemia is a form of low red blood cells. Various symptoms are the result of any anemia but pernicious anemia is lack of the right from of B-12 and 20% of the population at an estimate needs the special form. A simple test will reveal to you if you need the special kind, and if you do, it is inexpensive. I will add here that if you need the special kind of B-12 you should take a small does for life.

We sell lots of this special supplement because people come see me with one or more of the above symptoms. I AM OFFERING A FREE STRESS CHECK. If you need the special form it is $32, and this will last you 3 to 4 months. If you would benefit from the regular form it is $26 for 180 tablets.
