First let me wish everyone a happy holiday. I will be out of town for two weeks starting 22 Dec and returning Jan 5, a Friday. Lactic Acid yeast is a very special probiotic. It is valuable when your intestines get too much unwanted bacteria in them. Lactic Acid yeast metabolizes all carbohydrates into lactic acid, in part. Normal probiotics turn dairy into lactic acid yeast. The benefit is that the mild lactic acid chases away the unwanted bacteria from the gut. Simple solution. SIBO is a disease of this bacterial overgrowth. Diarrhea, digestive upset of any kind may resolve with lactic acid yeast for a few days. We keep it around and take it when needed. Another probiotic we carry is Prosynbiotic. This contains prebiotics and antibiotic resistant probiotics. A recent case got diarrhea for a couple days from whatever source. Perhaps it was a stomach flu or possible some tainted food. She needed both and was better in a couple days.
Again, have a wonderful holiday.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mike Spearman
